((Progress report #8:
Looks like I have the style pretty much down. Now if I could just get off my lazy ass and draw more (or rather, sit down on my lazy ass and draw more.) Oh well, tomorrow’s Monday. As good a day as any to start!
See you then.))

((Progress report #7:
Frustrated to the point of pulling my hair out with those damned noses (okay, not really), it was time to go back to the drawing board. After taking a couple of screencaps of the show that looked helpful, I proceeded to break them down into basic shapes in the hopes of finding an easier method with more consistent results, and it seems that I may have done just that.
And now I feel like kind of a tool for not thinking of it before. I just draw a line across the face that indicates the top of the nose, and then draw a small circle indicating the tip right below it. After that the rest is fairly easy. It’ll take a bit of practice to get right but so far this method seems to work pretty well.))
((Progress report #5:
Thinking up new poses can be difficult, especially when you have no context to work with, so I decided to practice by re-drawing my older posts. Above is the one that I think has turned out best so far.
Noses are still giving me trouble, as always, but I’ve found eyes to be getting a lot easier.))
((Progress report #4:
Made a few improvements to my technique for drawing bodies. Could still use some work, but they’re good enough for now that I’m going to start focusing more on faces.
I’ll let you know how it turns out.))
((I’m afraid this is all I’ve got for you today. Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive.
Also, I’ll be very surprised if anyone actually gets the reference.))
((Progress report 3:
Drew something that actually looks pretty okay!
I borrowed a bit from another, better drawing when coming up with the pose, but you have to learn somehow. May as well be from someone who knows what they’re doing.
What do you think? Keep in mind that this is just a rough sketch, not a finished drawing. I haven’t gotten to that stage yet.))
((EDIT: The tail is just an outline.))
((Progress report #2:
I managed to draw a half-way decent face just now, complete with a nose.

It’s still not quite what I’m aiming for (not even close, really) but it is a step forward, at least.
((Progress report #1:
I think I’ve got bodies somewhat figured out. They’re far from perfect, but still a step up from before.
What’s mainly giving me trouble is the heads. Having them attach to their bodies without looking awkward can be difficult, depending on the pose, and faces are a pain. Noses especially are proving to be a nightmare.

That’s all there is to tell today. I’ll let you know more when there’s more to know.))
((By now I imagine some of you are wondering why I’m making you wait so long for the next update (especially when I said it’d be up four days ago) so I’d like to shed some light on the situation.
See, I’m not exactly what you’d call a fast artist. I tend to draw slowly, especially when attempting to do multiple panels. Recently, however, I’ve learned to pick up the pace a bit, to the point that I decided to go from four or five panels to eight (possibly ten) for the current update.
The problem is that while I’ve certainly gotten much better at drawing the rough sketches, I’m still struggling with the finished version, particularly the style. My current style - those thick, somewhat sketchy lines - is time consuming and I’m honestly not that fond of the way it looks.
So, I’m experimenting, trying to find something that is both appealing and doesn’t take forever to draw. Counter-intuitively, this is a slow, tedious and often frustrating process.
On the bright side though, if and when I can settle on something I like, it’ll mean not only higher quality content, but more frequent stuff as well. In the best case scenario I’ll even be able to post multiple updates a day (as I was doing when I first started this blog.)
So please, be patient with me followers.))
